Keeping to the Simple Things

Why do we make it so hard to serve the Lord? It seems the more simple I keep my obedience the Lord is able to move and affect me and my families lives.

The choice…

Trust like a child…

Pick up my cross daily…

Keep my eyes focused on Jesus…

Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you…

If I give away my life then I will find it…

Embrace and allow the Holy Spirit to be your guide…

As you go make disciples of all nations baptizing them…

OR

As I go make this life about me and let worry about the lost…

Embrace this world and its desires and let it be my guide…

Hold on to my life and guard it- after all I am #1…

Forgive if they somehow deserve it…

Keep looking at the storms…

Live daily for self...

Walk in fear…

The choice…

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

This scripture changed altered my very existence when I was 17 years old. Now 20 years later it is still such a powerful reminder of who God wants me to be and what He has for my life. We each must decide on a daily basis- will we serve the Lord, our flesh, or the world. There is only one of these that will bring hope, peace, and joy. Who and what are you serving?
